The study aims at building a measure of flexible mathematical thinking for 1st stage students , and preparing educational units using the Needham and Perkins-Blyth models to learn some basic skills in football, as well as identifying the impact of the Needham and Perkins-Blythe models on flexible mathematical thinking and learning some basic skills in football for students, where the researcher applied the experimental design with the two experimental and control groups, as well as used the descriptive approach in the process of Building a measure of flexible mathematical thinking. The research community is represented by students of the first stage in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences / University of Waist and students of the first stage in the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences in Kut University College for the academic year 2021-2022, as the number of students in the first stage / University of Waist (80 ) students and represented the experimental research sample divided into four divisions, and the number of first-stage students was Kut University , (150) students to build a measure of flexible mathematical thinking, and thus the number of the research community reached (230) students, after which the educational curriculum was applied by (12) educational units distributed on the six skills represented (rolling, handling, scoring) and (rolling and scoring, rolling handling and scoring)
the most important findings of the study are that the (Needham) and (Perkins Blyth) models have a positive effect on flexible mathematical thinking, some basic football skills, and the validity of the mathematical flexible thinking scale that was built by the researcher and was appropriate to measure what was set for it, And the work of the Collaborative groups according to the two models make the lesson more organized. The researcher recommended that, teachers be encouraged to diversify teaching methods, employ all new models and plans in teaching football, emphasize providing students with sufficient cognitive information when teaching them the practical side, and work to activate the role of educational institutions by providing the basic requirements for the success of using modern teaching models in teaching the required sports skills
