The College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at University of Baghdad launched and continued the humanitarian initiative “Ramadan Charity Basket” as part of its commitment to social responsibility and the promotion of solidarity during the holy month of Ramadan. The initiative was organized by the Higher Committee for Community Service and Volunteer Work under the direct supervision of the Dean of the College, Prof. Sabah Qasim Khalaf.
The campaign was implemented in two phases in cooperation with faculty members and administrative staff. During the first phase, 78 food baskets were distributed to a number of college staff members and students residing in the university dormitories. The second phase focused specifically on supporting dormitory students, who are away from their families during Ramadan, by providing additional food baskets to help ease their living expenses.
This initiative reflects the values of generosity, compassion, and social solidarity within the university community. It also highlights the college’s continuous efforts to support its students and staff through voluntary and humanitarian activities that strengthen cooperation and mutual care among members of the academic community.
The college administration reaffirmed its commitment to continuing such initiatives that promote unity, social responsibility, and a supportive academic environment for all students.
