The College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Baghdad received the National Program Accreditation Evaluation Team on Tuesday, 17 February 2026, as part of an official visit aimed at assessing the eligibility of the Bachelor’s program and reviewing its compliance with national academic accreditation and quality standards.
The team was welcomed by the Dean of the College, Prof. Sabah Qasim Khalaf, along with members of the College Council. During the visit, a comprehensive presentation was delivered outlining the College’s vision, mission, strategic objectives, and plans for development and continuous improvement, in addition to highlighting key academic and administrative achievements achieved in recent years within the framework of program accreditation.
The visit included a detailed review of academic program documents, such as course descriptions, learning outcomes, assessment methods, quality assurance systems, and improvement plans based on self-evaluation results. The evaluation team also conducted field tours of academic departments, lecture halls, laboratories, sports facilities, postgraduate studies units, and administrative offices to examine infrastructure readiness and its alignment with accreditation requirements and national standards.
At the conclusion of the visit, the National Accreditation Team stressed the importance of sustaining efforts in developing academic and administrative practices, strengthening a culture of quality and continuous improvement, and adhering to approved standards to ensure the advancement of educational performance and successful achievement of program accreditation.
This visit supports the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Quality Education (SDG 4) and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17).
