In the presence of the Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Prof. Sabah Qasim Khalaf, the University of Baghdad team was crowned champion of the Iraqi Universities Handball Championship after a well-deserved victory over Diyala University in the final match, winning by 25–24, amid an enthusiastic atmosphere and notable audience attendance.
The title came after a strong and impressive performance throughout the tournament, with a final that remained highly competitive and intense until the last moments. The University of Baghdad coach, Dr. Raad Khanjar, praised the players’ heroic performance, affirming that the achievement was the result of discipline in training, teamwork, and strong team spirit. In turn, the team captain expressed great pride in dedicating the title to the university administration and the supporting students.
This victory represents a new sporting achievement added to the University of Baghdad’s rich record of successes in various university championships and reflects the growing commitment to supporting sports activities within Iraqi universities.
