In a voluntary initiative reflecting social responsibility, first-year students at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, University of Baghdad organized a tree-planting campaign across the college’s halls and outdoor areas, under the supervision of Dean Dr. Sabah Qasim Khalaf and several faculty members.
The campaign involved planting a variety of trees and perennial plants, aiming to enhance the campus’s aesthetic appearance and expand green spaces. The initiative encouraged student engagement in environmental sustainability while fostering teamwork and a sense of civic responsibility.
The college administration emphasized that the campaign aligns with the university’s strategy to support environmental and volunteer activities, highlighting the enthusiasm and collaboration demonstrated by the students. Participants expressed pride in contributing to a project that raises awareness about environmental protection and addresses climate change challenges.
This activity supports SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and SDG 13 (Climate Action).
