The College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at University of Baghdad discussed a doctoral dissertation by student Kanaan Imran Musa entitled:
“Comparative Analysis of Biomechanical Characteristics and Center of Gravity Trajectory in the Clean and Jerk Lift Across Different Weight Categories of Elite Iraqi Weightlifters.”
The discussion committee consisted of:

The study aimed to analyze and compare biomechanical characteristics and center of gravity trajectories in the clean and jerk lift among elite Iraqi weightlifters across different weight categories. The researcher selected members of the Iraqi national weightlifting team and used descriptive survey methodology supported by physical performance tests and digital motion analysis.
The research highlighted the importance of establishing an accurate biomechanical database for Iraqi elite lifters and concluded that body weight category does not determine the trajectory of the center of gravity, which instead depends on skill quality and technical mastery.
