Ali Ammar Yousir, a student at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Baghdad, achieved an outstanding sporting accomplishment by breaking the world record in the snatch during the weightlifting competition at the 20th Asian Games, held in Aichi–Nagoya, Japan.
Yousir delivered an exceptional performance, culminating in a world-record-breaking snatch of 219 kg, adding another remarkable achievement to his impressive sporting record.
On this occasion, the University of Baghdad Presidency, represented by Prof. Dr. Alaa Abdul-Hassan Al-Zughaibi, President of the University, and the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Sabah Qasim Khalaf, extended their highest congratulations to Ali Ammar Yousir, alongside his coach and College faculty member, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Saleh Mahdi, and Prof. Dr. Zaidoun Jawad Mohammed, Head of the Iraqi delegation. The University and College expressed their intention to honor the athlete in recognition of the significance of his achievement and wished him continued success and further accomplishments that would raise Iraq’s name at international sporting events.
