The Inter-Stage Tennis Championship concluded at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, University of Baghdad, in the presence of the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Sabah Qasim Khalaf, the Head of the Individual Games Department, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Hassan Hleil, the Head of the Theoretical Sciences Department, Prof. Dr. Falih Hashim Finjan, and the Head of the Student Activities Unit, Prof. Dr. Ihab Dakhil Hassan, with the participation of students from different academic stages.
This championship is part of the annual sports activities organized by the Individual Games Department, aiming to promote sportsmanship, develop physical skills, encourage students to engage in sports activities, and support athletic talents in tennis.
The tournament witnessed outstanding competitions and a high technical level among participants. The results concluded with student Hasnain Mohammed winning first place in the men’s category, and student Dunya Ziyad winning first place in the women’s category.
At the conclusion of the championship, the Dean praised the efforts made in organizing the tournament, affirming the college administration’s commitment to supporting extracurricular sports activities due to their important role in building well-rounded student personalities. The winners were honored and certificates and awards were distributed, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), Goal 4 (Quality Education), and Goal 5 (Gender Equality).
