The College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Baghdad received the National Committee for Institutional Accreditation on Sunday, December 21, 2025, as part of the committee’s field visits to review the status of educational institutions and evaluate their compliance with quality assurance and academic accreditation standards.
The committee was welcomed by the Dean of the College, Prof. Sabah Qasim Khalaf, along with a number of academic and administrative staff members. An introductory presentation was delivered, highlighting the college’s academic programs, development plans, infrastructure, and the available scientific and sports facilities.
The committee toured the college’s departments, lecture halls, laboratories, and sports fields, and reviewed the academic and administrative work mechanisms. Several key issues related to improving the educational process and enhancing the quality of learning outcomes were also discussed.
At the conclusion of the visit, the committee commended the efforts exerted by the college administration and its staff, stressing the importance of continuing to apply quality standards in order to advance the academic and scientific level. In turn, the college administration expressed its appreciation to the committee for its constructive observations and support for the process of institutional development, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education), Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), and Goal 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions).
