The College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Baghdad concluded the Second-Year Football Championship with the final match, attended by the Dean of the College, Prof. Sabah Qasim Khalaf, the Assistant Deans, heads of academic departments, and a large number of faculty members and students.
The final match, which brought together Group (K) and Group (W), witnessed strong competition and a high technical level. The game ended in a 1–1 draw, before Group (W) secured the championship title through penalty shootouts.
The Head of the Team Sports Department, Prof. Alaa Mohsen, praised the outstanding level demonstrated by the students, affirming that the championship reflected a spirit of cooperation and contributed to enhancing participants’ technical and physical skills.
The event concluded with the awarding of trophies and prizes to the winning team and outstanding players, in a celebratory atmosphere that reflected successful organization and strong student engagement in sports activities this academic year, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals related to Good Health and Well-Being, Quality Education, and Sustainable Communities.
