The Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Baghdad, Prof. Sabah Qasim Khalaf, hosted the Asian squash champion, Seyber Etemad Pour from the Islamic Republic of Iran, during his training camp with the Iraqi national squash team.
The Iranian star began a training program with the Iraqi team as part of a technical cooperation initiative between the Iraqi Squash Federation and several international squash champions.
This initiative comes as part of the Iraqi national team’s preparations for the upcoming Arab Championship, scheduled to take place in Lebanon early next month. The training camp aims to transfer international expertise to young Iraqi players and strengthen their competitive spirit.
For his part, the Iranian champion expressed his delight at being in Iraq, praising the players’ performance and discipline during training. The program will continue until the end of the week and will include group training sessions, friendly matches, technical lectures, and performance analysis workshops for the players. These efforts also align with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), Goal 4 (Quality Education), and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
