A delegation from the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Baghdad took part in the international training course for student activities managers, organized by the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in cooperation with the Peoples’ Friendship University in the Russian Federation. The course was held within the framework of strengthening international collaboration and developing university staff capacities.
The University of Baghdad was represented in this program by Dr. Ali Sadiq Thiyab, Director of the Student Activities Department; Dr. Thamer Hammad Rijah, Administrative Assistant Dean of the College; and Mr. Ali Abdullah Hazaa, representative of the University Media Division.
The training course, which saw the participation of over 50 managers and representatives of student activity departments from various Iraqi universities, included both theoretical and practical lectures. These aimed to enhance participants’ competence in organizing university-level sports championships and festivals, while also developing their administrative and technical skills. A group of international experts in student activities and university sports management delivered the training sessions.
This participation aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals: Quality Education, Decent Work and Economic Growth, and Partnerships for the Goals.
