The College of Physical Education and Sport Sciences at the University of Baghdad welcomed Mr. Qais Al-Dhalai, President of the Asian Rugby Federation from the United Arab Emirates, in an official visit aimed at strengthening sports cooperation and advancing rugby within university communities.
The visit was hosted by the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Sabah Qasim Khalaf, alongside Dr. Fareeq Hazaa, President of the Iraqi Rugby Federation. The visit included a discussion session focused on future collaboration between the college and the Asian Rugby Federation.
Mr. Al-Dhalai praised the facilities and capabilities available at the college, expressing the Federation’s commitment to supporting university initiatives in sports—particularly rugby, which is rapidly growing in the region. He also commended the college administration’s active role in engaging with sports federations.
For his part, the Dean expressed his appreciation for the visit, highlighting the Asian Rugby Federation’s valuable role in supporting university-level sports and reaffirming the college’s readiness to host future tournaments and activities in partnership with the federation.
