Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Sabah Qasim Khalaf, Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sport Sciences at the University of Baghdad, the Postgraduate Studies Division, in collaboration with the Department of Theoretical Sciences, organized a workshop titled “Sustainable Development Goals: Global Achievements and Future Outlook” under the slogan “Together to Save the Planet.” The workshop, held on April 7–8, 2025, in the postgraduate lecture halls, saw active participation from master’s students.
The workshop aimed to raise awareness about the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by discussing economic, health, environmental, and social challenges faced by many countries, identifying obstacles, proposing alternative solutions, and offering recommendations. A team of English language faculty members, including Ms. Mayada Zuhair Fakhri, Ms. Ansam Yaarub Khayoun, and Ms. Noor Abdul Sahib, supervised the sessions.
The event was attended by Professor Dr. Sabah Qasim Khalaf, Dean of the College; Professor Dr. Mohammed Abdul Hussein Atiya, Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs; Professor Dr. Luay Sami Rafaat, Secretary of the College Council; Professor Dr. Tareq Nazar Majid, Head of the Postgraduate Studies Division; and several faculty members.
This initiative aligns with all 17 Sustainable Development Goals by fostering comprehensive awareness, encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration, and promoting actionable strategies to address global challenges.
