The faculty team of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences kicked off the University of Baghdad Ramadan Professors’ Cup with a victory, defeating the Ministry Professors’ team (3-1). Although the team initially trailed by one goal, they managed to equalize at the start of the second half, thanks to the tactical expertise and experience of their coach, Dr. Saleh Radi. The equalizer was scored by Dr. Khalil Sattar, followed by two goals from Dr. Ali Saad.
The match also witnessed an outstanding performance by the college team’s goalkeeper, Lecturer Yasser Hussein, who saved a penalty kick, securing the team’s win and advancement to the tournament’s second round.
This achievement aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by promoting physical activity and a healthy lifestyle among faculty members, and Goal 4 (Quality Education) by fostering engagement and teamwork within the academic community.
