The Iraqi Universities Tennis Championship concluded on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, with the participation of 47 public and private universities. The final match saw the University of Baghdad’s men’s team claim the championship title after defeating Ashur University (2-0) in an outstanding performance throughout the tournament. The final match took place on the courts of the College of Physical Education and Sport Sciences at the University of Baghdad. In the women’s category, the University of Diyala secured first place.
The final match and awards ceremony were attended by Prof. Sabah Qasim Khalaf, Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sport Sciences at the University of Baghdad; Dr. Hassanein Basim, Director of the Student Activities Department at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research; and Dr. Ali Sadiq Thiyab, Director of the Student Activities Department at the University of Baghdad.
The match was intense and competitive, with both teams delivering a thrilling performance. The University of Baghdad’s team showcased remarkable skill and determination, securing the championship title through their hard work, fighting spirit, and perseverance—proving that dedication and teamwork are key to success.
