As part of its commitment to achieving comprehensive environmental sustainability, Prof. Baha Ibrahim Ensaf, President of the University of Baghdad, honored the winners of the Campus Environmental Sustainability Competition, in the presence of Prof. Sabah Qasim Khalaf, Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences.
Among the honorees was Dr. Tareq Ali Yousif, a faculty member at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, for his research titled “AI-Driven Smart Campus Transportation System.” His study was recognized as one of the best research publications at the university, contributing to environmental awareness and promoting sustainable initiatives among students and faculty.
This recognition reflects the University of Baghdad’s commitment to scientific innovation, encouraging high-impact research that offers practical solutions to environmental and economic challenges while reinforcing its role in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This initiative aligns with SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) by promoting smart technologies and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) by enhancing sustainable campus practices.
