The University of Baghdad men’s volleyball team won the Iraqi Universities Championship after defeating the Al-Salam University College team in the final match with a score of 3-0. The match demonstrated an outstanding performance throughout the tournament and was held at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Baghdad.
The final match was attended by Dr. Amir Faisal, Assistant President of the University for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Abdulhussein, Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Thamer Hamad Rjeh, Associate Dean for Administrative Affairs, and Dr. Ali Sadiq Thiyab, Director of Student Activities at the University of Baghdad. Dr. Thiyab emphasized that the University of Baghdad team displayed remarkable performance throughout the championship, earning the title through hard work and dedication. He further noted that this achievement adds to the university’s history of sports accomplishments.
The coaching staff for the University of Baghdad team included faculty members Dr. Alaa Mohsen Yasser, Head of the Team Sports Branch, serving as the coach, and Dr. Khaleel Sattar as the assistant coach. Players from the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences also played a key role in securing this victory.
