In the presence of Prof. Hamid Fadel Al-Tamimi, President of Al-Mustansiriya University, and Prof. Sabah Qasim Khalaf, Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Baghdad, the University of Baghdad’s futsal team achieved second place in the Central Region qualifiers of the University Futsal Championship. This placement officially qualifies them for the finals of the Iraq Universities Championship, which will be held in the second semester.
The final match ended with a 2-0 victory for the host team, Al-Mustansiriya University, after a thrilling game. Despite dominating the game, the University of Baghdad team was unable to convert their opportunities into goals.
University of Baghdad team captain Ahmed Jadaan was named the tournament’s best player.
After the match, University of Baghdad’s coach, Dr. Ali Saad Abdul Hameed, stated that preparations for the finals would be different and started early to ensure a positive result worthy of the University of Baghdad’s reputation.
