Theoretical Sciences Department hosted the third session of the College Council for the academic year 2024-2025. The session was chaired by Prof. Sabah Qasim Khalaf, Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Baghdad, on Wednesday, October 16, 2024. The meeting was attended by the Vice Deans for Scientific and Administrative Affairs, heads of scientific departments, the Secretary of the College Council, the Head of the Postgraduate Studies Division, the Head of the Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Division, and the Head of the Student Affairs Division.
During the session, several issues were discussed, including the monitoring of student attendance and their participation in lectures by the scientific departments, encouraging students to remain committed to attending. The Dean also emphasized the preparations for the central graduation ceremony for University of Baghdad students, which will be held on the grounds of our college, and the activation of the committees responsible for the event.
Additionally, the Dean stressed the importance of encouraging faculty members to publish in H-index in Scopus journals to enhance the college’s academic standing. The mechanism of accreditation, which will be issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, was also discussed, along with the formation of the committees related to it.
At the end of the meeting, the Dean reiterated the importance of everyone’s cooperation to ensure the success of the academic year and the completion of its requirements.
