The Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Sabah Qasim Khalaf, attended the Iraqi national team’s match against France at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in his capacity as a member of the Iraqi Football Association, expressing his support for the Iraqi national team on the global sporting stage.
During the event, Prof. Dr. Sabah Qasim Khalaf met FIFA President Gianni Infantino, where they discussed the importance of developing football and strengthening its presence at various levels to support the advancement of the sport and national teams.
The participation reflects the active role of the University of Baghdad and the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences in supporting Iraqi sport and representing it at international sporting events. Prof. Dr. Sabah Qasim Khalaf also expressed his wishes for the Iraqi national team to achieve positive results and deliver an outstanding performance worthy of Iraq and its supporters.
