The College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at University of Baghdad hosted the Iraq Universities Athletics Championship, with the participation of 65 public and private universities at the college’s main stadium.
The opening day, attended by Dean Prof. Sabah Qasim Khalaf, witnessed strong competition among university teams across various athletics events, including running, jumping, and throwing, in the presence of academic officials and a large student audience.
The College emphasized that hosting this championship supports university sports activities, promotes healthy competition, and helps discover and develop athletic talent. Organizers also noted that the event aims to enhance students’ physical fitness and strengthen cooperation among Iraqi universities in the sports field.
