As part of its ongoing activities, the Department of Theoretical Sciences organized a workshop titled “Mechanisms for Maintaining Social and State Cohesion in Iraq: A Future Vision” on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. The workshop discussed strategies for preserving Iraq’s social and state cohesion while promoting sustainable development.
The session featured lectures by Prof. Ahmed Adnan Kazem, Prof. Wisan Jasim, and Assistant Lecturer Ban Omid Rashid, with the participation of faculty members and first- and second-year students.
The workshop aimed to highlight a vision centered on strengthening the dimensions of sustainable development, ensuring Iraq’s long-term security through a cohesive and resilient society where equal rights are upheld. It emphasized the importance of sustaining this cohesion to achieve long-term stability and create a secure and sustainable environment for current and future generations.
Key topics covered included sustainability and financial strategies for a thriving society, long-term strategic planning for Iraq, case studies of national development models, future national visions, Iraq’s development agenda for 2025–2029, and the country’s socio-political goals leading up to 2030. The discussions aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those related to peace, justice, strong institutions, and sustainable communities.
