As part of the activities organized by the Postgraduate Studies Division, the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Baghdad conducted a practical field assessment for postgraduate students on the College’s sports grounds. The assessment formed part of the English course requirements for doctoral students and supported the implementation of the Creative Teaching Project, which promotes teaching physical education in English.
The activity involved practical teaching demonstrations in which students applied a variety of teaching methods and techniques. Each student presented a comprehensive lesson plan in English, incorporating instruction in a specific sports skill and the delivery of a recreational game, while using sports equipment and materials appropriate to each activity.
The initiative aims to develop postgraduate students’ ability to use English in sports and educational contexts, strengthen their skills in lesson planning and practical implementation, and enhance their capacity to apply modern and creative teaching approaches when instructing sports skills.
The activity was supervised by English language instructor Noor Abdul-Sahib Ali, who monitored the students’ performance and practical implementation of their lesson plans. This initiative contributes to improving their academic and teaching competencies and preparing them to meet the requirements of modern university education.
