The College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Baghdad discussed a master’s thesis by Saroud Yaseen Ali, entitled “The Role of Effective Leadership in Addressing Some Challenges of Change in Sports Clubs from the Perspective of Administrative Boards in Baghdad.”
The discussion committee included Prof. Dr. Abbas Ali Athab as Chair, Prof. Dr. Salam Hantoush Rasheed and Assist. Prof. Dr. Thamer Hammad Rajah as Members, and Assist. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Qusay Mohammed as Member and Supervisor.
The study examined the role of effective leadership in addressing change-related challenges within Baghdad’s sports clubs from the perspective of administrative board members. It measured the level of effective leadership, assessed the challenges associated with change, and examined the relationship between the two variables in the sports administrative environment.
The findings indicated that effective leadership among the administrative boards of Baghdad’s sports clubs was rated good and exceeded the hypothetical mean. This reflects positive leadership practices in guidance, motivation, decision-making, and workplace relationship-building.
The researcher concluded that strengthening effective leadership is essential to improving sports-club performance. It helps reduce the effects of organizational, financial, and administrative challenges while enhancing sports institutions’ ability to adapt to change.
