Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sport Sciences, Prof. Dr. Sabah Qasim Khalaf, and the Associate Dean for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Thamer Hammoud Rajeh, the college’s landscaping and maintenance staff have launched a comprehensive campaign to renovate the college gardens.
The initiative included pruning trees, clearing weeds, and planting flower seedlings at the main entrance of the college. This campaign is part of a series of periodic efforts led by the college administration to enhance the campus environment and improve service infrastructure.
The project is aligned with the college’s strategic plan to increase green spaces, beautify the landscape, and preserve the sustainability of garden areas through the implementation of reforestation activities and the planting of evergreen and seasonal ornamental plants.
This effort directly supports several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including:
•Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, by promoting a clean and green campus environment.
•Goal 13: Climate Action, through increased vegetation that helps absorb carbon and regulate local temperatures.
•Goal 15: Life on Land, by contributing to urban biodiversity and promoting the planting of various plant species.
Such initiatives reflect the college’s commitment to creating a more sustainable, healthy, and aesthetically pleasing learning environment for students and staff alike.
