The Higher Committee for Voluntary Work at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, University of Baghdad, organized its second voluntary campaign of the year, in collaboration with the college’s professors and staff, to support Dar Rafaa Elderly Home on Wednesday, December 4, 2024.
The home hosts 20 elderly men and women, and the committee succeeded in providing them with essential supplies.
This marks the second consecutive year that the Higher Committee for Voluntary Work has included this campaign in its annual program.
Visiting and interacting with the elderly, listening to their stories, and showing care provide them with a moral boost, reminding them that they are not forgotten and that we stand by them. This is a vital part of serving our community across all its segments.
The campaign aligns with Goal 2 and Goal 3: No Poverty and Good Health and Well-Being, by promoting the physical and emotional well-being of the elderly through essential support and moral care. It also supports Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities, by ensuring inclusivity and addressing the needs of a marginalized group in society. Furthermore, it contributes to Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, by fostering a sense of community and social responsibility towards vulnerable populations.
