The Council of the College of Physical Education and Sports Science
The Council of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences is considered the highest authority within the college and is responsible for formulating its general academic and administrative policies, as well as directing its activities in alignment with the university’s objectives and its scientific and educational mission.
The Council’s duties include holding regular weekly meetings or exceptional sessions to address urgent and significant developments. During these meetings, all new matters, projects, and activities undertaken by the college are reviewed, and appropriate decisions are made to ensure, above all, the best interests of the college.
In addition, the Council discusses reports and proposals submitted by academic departments and scientific committees for study, approval, and implementation in accordance with established regulations, guidelines, and authorized powers. All meeting minutes are documented and submitted to the University Presidency for approval.
The Council comprises the permanent members of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, namely: the Dean of the College (Chair of the Council), the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs, the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, the Heads of Academic Departments, and the Representative of the Academics’ Syndicate (Council Members).
Furthermore, certain faculty members may be invited to present their proposals for discussion, as well as heads of administrative and scientific units within the college, to address issues related to their work and to find appropriate solutions

First Session 7/9/2025
  • Activating the work of scientific and administrative committees related to student affairs and the educational process.
  • Discussing academic and administrative plans for the new academic year and enhancing the quality of education and scientific research.
  • Emphasizing the creation of a suitable scientific environment that contributes to improving academic and research performance in the college.
Second Session 22/9/2025
  • Instructing the members of the College Council to complete the preparations for the beginning of the new academic year and to prepare classrooms, laboratories, and service facilities for receiving students.
  •                               Following up on the application procedures to the college and preparing for the admission tests of applicants for undergraduate studies.
  •                               Emphasizing the commitment of academic staff to official working hours and the approved lecture schedule.
  •                               Supporting student and community initiatives in alignment with the university’s strategy for community service.
Third Session 5/10/2025
  • Emphasizing the importance of students’ commitment to official attendance according to the study schedules.
  • Instructing the Associate Deans for Scientific and Administrative Affairs and the Heads of Academic Departments to follow up on the implementation of study plans and student attendance.
  • Instructing the Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs to form the preparatory committees for the Central Graduation Ceremony of the University of Baghdad for the academic year (2024–2025) – The Cycle of Excellence and Creativity.
  • Completing the admission tests for applicants to the college after reopening the electronic application system.
