Team Sports Department
The Team Sports Department is one of three branches of the College of Physical Education at the University of Baghdad/Al-Jadriya. Professor Dr.Alaa Mohsen Yasser was assigned to head the branch. The branch is responsible for teaching applied subjects (theoretical and practical) for team games, including (football, handball, basketball, Volleyball, foot pentathlon) An elite group of qualified professors with advanced degrees (PhD and Master’s), as well as sports coaches with a bachelor’s degree in physical education who teach applied subjects as teaching assistants

The Mission
Working towards the preparation and graduation of pioneering scientific and leadership competencies in the field of physical education and sports sciences, while advancing the knowledge base in scientific research within this field. This is aimed at serving the local, regional, and international communities. Additionally, the focus is on training and refining students’ minds scientifically and cognitively, emphasizing social and cultural values, and responding to the requirements of the local market
The Objectives
- 1. Preparing teaching and training staff with high capabilities in sports-related fields.
- 2. Equipping personnel to work within governmental and non-governmental ministries and institutions.
- 3. Providing students with various sciences in all specializations by keeping pace with developments in advanced countries.
- 4. Cultivating a generation instilled with patriotism and a sense of duty towards serving the community.
- 5. Engaging with ministries, institutions, and sports clubs through organizing training, control, and sports seminars related to the latest developments in the sports arena.
- 6. Contributing to the development of independent sports programs based on the reality of individual sports
