Deans of the College

The College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Baghdad stands as the founding institution for all physical education colleges in Iraq, owing to its rich history that began in 1955 in the Waziriya area and continued after its relocation to Jadriya in 1985 until today. From this college, sports scientists and leaders have graduated, who have significantly contributed to the advancement of sports sciences not only locally but throughout the Arab world. The college has also served as a foundation for establishing other physical education colleges across Iraq, supporting national teams with both academic and practical expertise, leading to numerous championships in various sports.

We are grateful to God for enabling us to follow this path and His guidance in rebuilding this esteemed college. The college has regained its esteemed status, similar to its prominence in the 1980s, thanks to the dedicated efforts of its officials, faculty, staff, and workers. Through teamwork and a spirit of sportsmanship, the college has risen and continues to progress forward, despite the setbacks faced by all institutions due to the circumstances of war in our country.

Today, the College of Physical Education is undergoing a transformative phase, with improvements in facilities, departments, curricula, and equipment to keep pace with global scientific and technological advancements in both practical and theoretical realms. We take pride in the bright minds and capable hands of our students and graduates; the youth represent the strength of effort and achievement, while experience provides enlightened insight. Success can only be achieved through a blend of experience, youth, and productive teamwork.

My gratitude goes to everyone affiliated with this college and to those who have worked and continue to work sincerely and tirelessly to build this academic institution, which will remain, God willing, a place of learning, producing scientists and leaders, and a source of knowledge for society.
