The Department of Studies and Planning at the University of Baghdad held a symposium entitled “Sustainable Development Goals 2030”, with the presence of the Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, his administrative assistant, the head of the Studies and Planning Department, and a number of Professors and students.
The symposium included lectures by professors and researchers from various universities in Iraq focused on achieving sustainable development goals, cooperation and working with all partners in a practical way to be able to make the right choices to improve life in a sustainable way for future generations.
During the symposium, the launch of the (University of Baghdad Platform for Sustainable Development) was announced, headed by the Director of the Studies and Planning Department, Dr. Manal Al-Kubaisi, as this platform will provide a space for dialogue and work towards positive change to raise societal awareness for the advancement and achievement of sustainable development goals.
The Sustainable Development Goals represent a comprehensive roadmap to address the root causes of poverty and unite peoples to make a positive change in the world and focus on the inclusiveness of all, as a country cannot work alone to achieve social and economic growth within its borders only, but countries must join hands and cooperate to ensure the achievement of long-term goals.
