The College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Baghdad is the mother college of all colleges of physical education in Iraq, due to its long history of its beginning in 1955 in Waziriyah and even after moving to Jadiriyah in 1985. Scientists and athletes graduated from this college who have had the greatest impact on the advancement of sports sciences, not only domestically but also on the Arab world as a whole.

In addition to its scientific and practical support for all Iraqi teams, it served as a base for the opening of all other colleges of physical education in Iraq

This led to many championships in various sports. For this reason, we thank God, and we thank him for enabling us to rebuilt this lofty college successfully. The college has been the same since its beginning in the 1980s.

Through teamwork and sportsmanship, the college has risen up and is still moving forward, after the situation in the college has deteriorated like other colleges because of the war conditions in our country. The College of Physical Education is now witnessing a qualitative shift in its buildings, departments, curricula and equipment in order to speed up its pace with the scientific and technological developments taking place in the world practically and theoretically. Young people are the capacity for work, achievement and experience. Their success can certainly be achieved only through a combination of experience, youth,  productive and constructive teamwork. Our thank and gratitude to all those affiliated with the College and all those who have worked sincerely and diligently for the purpose of building this edifice of science, which, God willing, will remain the factory of scientists and leaders and the source from which society will draw
