The Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences – University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. Sabah Qasim Khalaf, with the participation of researcher Heba Ali Munther, published a research in the Pakistan Heart Journal, which is a specialized international journal indexed within the Scopus repositories.
The aim of the research, titled (The Effect of Compound Exercises with the Intense Method and the Training Mask on the Development of Some Physical Abilities and the Level of Skillful Performance of Futsal Players), is to prepare complex exercises in an intensive manner and the training mask to develop some physical and skill abilities required by futsal players, and identifying the effect of compound exercises in developing specific physical capabilities and the level of skillful performance of specific skills. The researchers used the experimental approach with two groups (the control and the experimental) for its suitability to the research problem. As for the field research procedures, the researchers conducted pre physical abilities tests for each of (speed strength – transitional speed – endurance of speed) and skill tests for (trapping skill – success skill – shooting skill), then the main experiment was conducted. Post tests were then conducted taking into account the conditions in the pretests.
The research came out with set of conclusions; most importantly are: – There were statistically significant differences between the pre and posttests in physical abilities and the level of skilled performance in favor of the experimental test. The researchers recommended the use of compound exercises in the intensive method and the training mask in the development of other physical and skill aspects and in other sporting events. They also recommended to use these exercises with other training methods and for different age groups.
