As a part of the plan of the Department of Theoretical Sciences, a workshop titled “Patterning and Variation in Training Loads: Benefits and Risks,” presented by Prof. Dr. Ammar Darwish Rashid. This workshop aimed to clarify the concept of patterning as a generalization for a group of athletes without considering individual differences and the lack of variation in situations. It also addressed the advantages of training loads and their pressure on functional systems to produce and generate energy, forcing them to adapt to higher functional requirements for the purpose of improving and developing performance. The workshop discussed how the gradual increase of these loads helps to reach readiness, without fatigue, and the temporary decline in body functions due to this increase, which leads to improved athlete responses to training stimuli after recovery.
