In conjunction with Global Entrepreneurship Week, the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, in coordination with the Ministry of Health, conducted a scientific workshop on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, titled “Bloodborne Diseases.” The workshop featured Dr. Fadel Hussein Alwan, a consultant physician at the Ministry of Health/Rusafa Health/Immunodeficiency Control Department. Also in attendance was Dr. Shaimaa Salman Kazem from the Ministry of Health
The workshop aimed to raise awareness about bloodborne diseases and their global impact, with a specific focus on Iraq. It was attended by healthcare professionals from the college’s health center, as well as professors and postgraduate students under the direct supervision of the Graduate Studies Department at the college. The workshop covered strategies to reduce the spread of bloodborne diseases, their treatment, and the societal impact of community awareness in reducing infection rates
