The importance of the study lies in using HRP and special non – dominant arm exercises on young basketball players to identify their effect on learning the correct performance as well as transfer of learning level to the dominant arm. HRP is considered a measurement as well as a training system for mental and psychological skills and it is used in different fields and the field of sport is one of them.  The problem of the study lies in most young players using their dominant arm to perform correctly yet ignore developing their other non-dominant arm although it is very important in performance. The study aims at designing exercises for the non – dominant arm using HRP to develop mental skills in young basketball players as well as identifying the effect of these exercises on fundamental skill performed with the non – dominant arm. The researcher used the experimental method on (15) young basketball players from the Iraqi central federation for basketball. All players were from Al Adhamia club and their dominant arm is the right arm. The main experiment was applied from 5/1/2023 to 11/3/2023 and it consisted of a training program with 24 sessions to conclude that the designed exercises have a positive effect on developing the non – dominant arm and developed performing the fundamental skills in basketball. The results also shows that using HRP is effective in developing young players’ mental skills and that there is positive transfer of learning. Finally the researcher recommends using mental training and designing training programs using HRP in mental tests and mental training as well as making similar studies on other sports
