The Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences – University of Baghdad, Professor Dr. (Sabah Qasim Khalaf) attended the meeting of the writing committee (the draft unified sports law) in the presence of a number of deans of the faculties of physical education and sports sciences in Iraq who were invited for that issue
Today, Sunday (20/8/2023), the Committee for Writing the Unified Sports Law Draft held in the guest house of the Council of Ministers in the capital, Baghdad (a workshop) for writing the draft law
During the workshop, the paragraphs associated to the law that were written by a committee assigned by the Prime Minister (Mr. Muhammad Shia’a Al-Sudani) were headed by the Counselor (Dr. Iyad Bunyan)
The committee consisted of legislators, Legalists and athletes representing the Council of Ministers, the State Council, and the Ministry of Youth and Sports After reading the draft law, its paragraphs were discussed by the deans of the faculties of physical education and sports sciences who represent the relevant . Proposals and observations related to the law were put forward for the purpose of presentation and discussion by the committee and to include what does not contradict Iraqi law and in accordance withinternational sports standards
The committee will continue to hold a series of workshops in the coming days for various sports segments, including pioneers, experts, Legalists, and executive bodies in sports federations, clubs, and the Olympic and Paralympic , to discuss the law and its mechanisms
The meeting was attended by a member of the committee, Advisor to the Prime Minister for Youth and Sports Affairs, Dr. (Shahba Ahmed Al-Azzawi)
