The University of Baghdad is ranked first in Webometrics for transparency for the academic year 2023 as reported by the Higher Council scientific Research in Spain
This ranking is calculates citations from researchers affiliated with academic institutions based on their Google Scholar account
Baghdad university citations increased from 107907 to 124195 within the last six months gaining 13% increase compared to the other Iraqi universities. The number of Iraqi universities that passed transparent ranking also increased from 46 to 56 within the last six months topped by University of Baghdad ranking first with 124195, University of Al – Mustansiriya coming second gaining 67305, and University of Mosul ranked third gaining 67025
The total number of universities that passed transparent ranking is about 5368 university from all around the world
