The Department of Theoretical Sciences at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, University of Baghdad, organized a scientific workshop entitled \u201cRenewable Energy and Its Role in Environmental Protection and Achieving Sustainable Development.\u201d The workshop was held as part of a series of courses and lectures launched to support the Sustainable Development Goals and in implementation of the annual scientific plan of the department.<\/h6>\n
The workshop was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Marwa Abdul Salam Mohammed and Assistant Lecturer Ban Omid Rashid, with the participation of a number of faculty members and students.<\/h6>\n
The workshop aimed to highlight traditional and renewable energy sources, clarifying their types, advantages, and challenges. Key topics included non-renewable energy sources such as natural gas, coal, and oil, as well as renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, and water, which are considered clean and environmentally friendly energy options.<\/h6>\n
Simple practical applications of solar energy were also presented. The workshop witnessed active participation from students, particularly in discussions on areas of renewable energy use and its role in environmental protection and sustainability.<\/h6>\n
