The Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Prof. Sabah Qasim Khalaf, and the Administrative Assistant Dean, Asst. Prof. Thamer Hammad Rajeh, received the President of the Iraqi Football Association, Captain Adnan Darjal, the Head Coach of the Iraqi National Football Team, Australian coach Graham Arnold, and the Director of Coach Education and Development at the Iraqi Football Association, Dr. Wissam Najeeb Asliyoh. The meeting aimed to discuss prospects for joint cooperation in scientific and applied fields, as well as benefiting from the college\u2019s academic staff and laboratories to contribute to the development of the performance of Iraqi national teams.<\/h6>\n
During the meeting, ways of utilizing specialized academic expertise in biomechanics, exercise physiology, and sports injuries were discussed, in the presence of Prof. Osama Ahmed Hussein and Asst. Lecturer Ismail Hamid Saleh. The discussion also included employing the advanced laboratory equipment available at the college to support physical and functional preparation programs for national team players, in addition to reviewing the college\u2019s outdoor fields and the possibility of investing them in training programs.<\/h6>\n
At the conclusion of the visit, both sides agreed to establish a future cooperation mechanism that includes conducting examinations and joint scientific research, as well as organizing specialized workshops and training courses. This cooperation aims to serve the development of Iraqi football and enhance the scientific and applied level of the national teams.<\/h6>\n
This initiative aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), through promoting scientific support, applied research, and institutional collaboration in sports development.<\/h6>\n
