The Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Prof. Sabah Qasim Khalaf, received today, Monday (5 January 2026), the President of the Iraqi Football Association, Captain Adnan Darjal, to discuss prospects for joint cooperation between the two sides in scientific and applied fields that contribute to improving the performance of Iraqi national teams.<\/h6>\n
During the meeting, which was attended by members of the College Council, discussions focused on ways to benefit from specialized academic expertise in biomechanics and exercise physiology, in addition to utilizing the modern laboratory equipment available at the college to support physical and functional preparation programs for national team players. The visit also included a tour of the college\u2019s outdoor pitches and the possibility of investing them in training programs.<\/h6>\n
Both sides emphasized the importance of adopting modern sports sciences, particularly biomechanics and physiology, due to their effective role in enhancing performance levels, reducing injuries, and developing training programs based on accurate scientific foundations.<\/h6>\n
At the conclusion of the visit, an agreement was reached to establish a future cooperation mechanism that includes conducting joint scientific tests and research, as well as organizing specialized workshops and training courses, in a way that serves the development of Iraqi football and advances the scientific and applied level of national teams.<\/h6>\n
