A master’s thesis was discussed at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences\/ University of Baghdad, by the student Ali Kazem Muslim. The thesis was titled “The Effect of a Guidance Program on Role Conflict, Cognitive Ability, and Performance Level of Tennis Referees in Iraq” in the specialization of (Psychology – Racket Sports). The discussion committee consisted of:<\/p>\n

– Prof. Mohammed Hassan Helail, Chairman
\n– Prof. Haider Naji Habash, Member
\n– Asst. Prof. Ali Hassan Shaker, Member
\n– Prof. Hasnaa Sattar Jabbar, Member and Supervisor
\n– Prof. Wissan Jassim Mohammed, Member and Supervisor<\/p>\n

The significance of the research lies in the rapid development of the game and the continuous changes in its rules and the way of playing, making it essential to improve the management of tennis matches by referees. This involves preparing referees psychologically, cognitively, and behaviorally, and activating guidance sessions that contribute to enhancing these aspects and the ability to handle the pressures faced during matches, starting from a young age, similar to the players.<\/p>\n

The researcher concluded that the guidance program contributed to reducing role conflict among the referees in the experimental group, increasing cognitive ability, and improving performance levels, which was not observed in the control group. The researcher recommended the implementation of the guidance program by the Iraqi Tennis Federation and its sub-federations and its adoption in refereeing courses and training sessions, due to its significant importance in developing referees\u00a0in\u00a0all\u00a0aspects.<\/p>\n
